After a long and diverse journey through research, lab testing, teaching, and learning across different scopes and areas, I am proud of the path that led to defending my PhD in Civil Engineering at Ghent University.

My research focused on the fabrication of invisible sensors embedded in glass for structural health monitoring, bridging advanced materials research with engineering applications.

I am very grateful to my supervisors, Prof. Jan Belis and Prof. Jeroen Missinne , for their guidance, trust, and continued support, even beyond my time at the university. Completing this PhD while working full-time on industrial projects was challenging but also very rewarding and their support meant a lot throughout this journey.

Alongside my work on different projects at SBE , I look forward to future opportunities for collaboration to apply academic expertise from Ghent University within our projects.
