With the first weeks behind us, we invited the inaugural cohort of the (Advanced) Master in Silicon Photonics for an informal meet-and-greet breakfast — a chance to connect on a more personal level, learn what drives them to pursue this exciting program, and hear about their ambitions.
It’s a wonderfully diverse group — in background (electronics, physics, materials science, nanotechnology, medical systems engineering), nationality, and motivation. Some were encouraged by their employers to take this next step, others are fresh graduates eager to explore new opportunities. But they all share one thing: a 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬.
📢 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 (𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕) 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏!
𝐖e’re looking forward to welcoming another fantastic, motivated cohort.
The breakfast was hosted by the professors from the research groups in charge of the organisation of this master: Liquid Crystals and Photonics Group , cmst-microsystems , IDLab (UGent - UAntwerpen - imec) and Photonics Research Group (Ghent University - imec) .
